Dodge PCM Services

• Please note this service is required to tune your 2015+ Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/RAM (all FCA models, except the 2015+ Dodge Viper and 2014 to 2019 Jeep/Dodge/Ram vehicles with the EDC17C79 PCM).
• In addition to this service, all 2018+ models require an HP Tuners Dodge 2018+ Smart Access Cable.  We recommend you purchase this cable in a separate order to avoid delays.
• Please ensure you are sending in ONLY a PCM. No brackets, rubber isolators, or other pieces should be included. These components may not be returned with your upgraded PCM.
• PCMs with broken “LOCKING” tabs or connectors WILL NOT be accepted for upgrades. No exceptions.
• This is a one-time upgrade that will not affect other operations of the PCM. The factory tools will still work for service.
• While there is no hardware change, the back cover of the PCM does need to be removed.
• EDC17C79 PCMs installed in 2014 to 2019 Jeep/Dodge/Ram vehicles do not need to be upgraded. The EDC17C79 PCM will update upon the first read of the ECM which will allow read/write abilities.
• As of 12/21/2015, ALL non-original 2015+ Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/RAM PCMs that are sent in for upgrade must have a stock read performed before it is shipped to us. This read must be uploaded before adding the Upgrade service to the cart.
• Gen 3 EcoDiesel PCMs cannot be read prior to upgrade. Any spare or non-original PCMs will need to be programmed to the vehicle before or after the upgrade by HP Tuners—this is the responsibility of the customer.
• If you are sending us a spare PCM, please make sure to send a read from the stock PCM. The stock read must be done as a GPEC2A, 2015+ Dodge or a GPEC2, 2015+ Dodge (depending on which PCM the vehicle is equipped with. Please see the Dodge PCM Identification Thread if you are unsure which PCM you have). If you do not have access to perform the read, please download the latest update from your customer page and try again.
• Once ordered, you can send either an original PCM or a spare. The spare has to be a compatible PCM.

These steps only apply to the send-in upgrade service, NOT the new PCM purchase.

Step 1: Once you’ve confirmed your vehicle’s support, purchase the upgrade service.

⚠️Please make sure to include the make and model of your vehicle, a copy of the HPT or RTD file, and the VIN (please double-check the VIN for accuracy to avoid delays).

⚠️ If you are sending us a spare PCM, please make sure to send a read from the stock PCM.

⚠️ If you have a 2018+ Dodge vehicle, you also need to purchase the 2018+ Dodge Smart Access Cable. We suggest you purchase this on a separate order.

Step 2: After placing your order with the necessary information, see the “Shipping” tab for a shipping form and address. Fill out and print this form to place in your shipping box. You will also receive an email immediately after placing your order with this shipping form and address.

Step 3: If you are sending in your stock PCM, remove the PCM from your vehicle. Then, package the PCM safely with the shipping form inside the box.

Step 4: Write your order number on the outside of the shipping box.

Step 5: Ship your PCM to HP Tuners using any carrier you prefer. The shipping address can be found on this page and in the email discussed in Step 2. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Step 6: HP Tuners will upgrade your PCM for tuning. Then, we’ll ship it back to you. The service takes 1-3 business days (not including shipping times).

Step 7: Once you receive your upgraded PCM, install it back into your vehicle. Then, license the upgraded PCM by purchasing the required number of MPVI/Universal Credits (sold separately, see vehicle list for credits costs). Once licensed, start tuning with your MPVIx interface and the latest version of VCM Suite BETA.

This only applies to new Dodge PCM purchases, NOT the upgrade service.

If you plan to purchase a new, already upgraded Dodge PCM, you must include the following information when adding to your cart: the make and model of your vehicle, the stock calibration file read of your vehicle’s PCM, and the VIN (please double-check the VIN for accuracy to avoid delays).

Please allow 1 to 3 business days from once we receive your stock calibration file to process your order and apply your file to the new PCM.

Please allow 1-3 business days (plus the time to ship the PCM) per PCM that you send in for the upgrade process to finish (i.e., 2 PCMs = 3-6 business days).

⚠️ NOTE: Any hardware ordered with this product will be shipped along with your upgraded ECM/PCM/TCM. To avoid any delays should you require other hardware soon, please order that hardware separately.

⚠️ NOTE: Customers are responsible for shipping costs when sending HP Tuners your ECM/PCM/TCM. The shipping charge at checkout only covers returning your control module after modification.

These ECM/PCM/TCM services are completed at the owner’s risk. HP Tuners will not be responsible for the vehicle, its powertrain, or electronics, nor how the control module is used, calibrated, and its functionality.

Due to the factory location of the PCMs in the vehicle, all PCMs will exhibit signs of weathering and wear, which is completely normal.
