McLaren ME17 ECM Service

• This service is available only as an HP Tuners send-in upgrade. Authorized dealer or third-party processing is not offered through this service.
• Only the original ECM from the supported vehicle will be accepted. Do not send a spare, donor, or replacement ECM.
• The upgraded ECM must be reinstalled in the same vehicle from which it was removed. Relearn avoidance is not guaranteed in every circumstance.
• Only MPVI4 and RTD4 are supported for this application. Earlier MPVI and RTD devices are not compatible.
• Once upgraded, the ECM requires 30 Universal Credits for licensing. Credits are sold separately.
• Upon reinstallation, connect using the latest supported version of VCM Scanner, review any diagnostic trouble codes, and clear codes as appropriate.
• Transmission tuning is not available at this time for these applications.

Step 1: Confirm your McLaren model, year, and ECM compatibility, and purchase the McLaren ME17 ECM Service.

Step 2: After placing your order, complete the shipping form provided under the Shipping section. Include your order number and the vehicle information requested on the form, including the VIN if required.

Step 3: Safely remove your vehicle’s original ECM. Package it securely with the completed shipping form. Do not submit a spare or replacement ECM.

Step 4: Write your order number clearly on the outside of the shipping box.

Step 5: Ship your original ECM to HP Tuners using a carrier of your choice. The customer is responsible for inbound shipping costs.

Step 6: HP Tuners completes the upgrade and returns your original ECM.

Step 7: Reinstall the upgraded ECM in the same vehicle. Connect your MPVI4, purchase and apply 30 Universal Credits, and use VCM Editor and VCM Scanner for supported calibration and diagnostic functions. For remote tuning, use RTD4 and TDN with the same ECM credit requirement.

NOTE: Any hardware ordered with this product will be shipped along with your upgraded ECM. To avoid any delays should you require other hardware soon, please order that hardware separately.

NOTE: Customers are responsible for shipping costs when sending HP Tuners your ECM/PCM/TCM. The shipping charge at checkout only covers returning your control module after modification.

• These ECM/PCM/TCM services are completed at the owner’s risk. HP Tuners will not be responsible for the vehicle, its powertrain, or electronics, nor how the control module is used, calibrated, and its functionality.
• Due to the factory location of the ECM in the vehicle, all ECMs will exhibit signs of weathering and wear, which is completely normal.
• When utilizing this service there is a possibility that the vehicle will need to be sent to the dealers to be re synced. Purchaser accepts all liability for this activity.
