Job Description

HP Tuners LLC is a global leader in the automotive aftermarket, developing software and hardware for vehicle calibration. We are growing rapidly and are looking to add a Project Manager to our team to work to support our growing products.

The Project Manager will use a hybrid mix of waterfall and agile methodologies to manage multiple cross functional projects to support business objectives.  Most projects will be technology based and the PM will oversee the entire lifecycle, from conception through development, manufacturing, testing, and product release.

This position will be responsible for creating and managing work schedules, reporting on project progress, oversee testing, liaising with vendors on standard and custom material procurements, and working with all departments to ensure products are released satisfactorily.

Additionally, some non-product focused projects will be the responsibility of the project manager, spanning the entire range of business needs.

The ideal candidate will have a willingness to get into the mix of a project and get their hands dirty to complete objectives, this is not a sit back and manage from afar position!

This position reports to the Chief Technical Officer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strategically plan and create project schedules/templates to ensure all projects are executed on-time and within budget
  • Create and maintain project documents
  • Lead scheduled and ad-hoc project meetings; setting agendas and documenting important notes
  • Troubleshoot project issues by identifying the root cause and implementing corrective actions
  • Prioritize and execute project tasks to provide smooth flow of progress throughout the project
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope and advise on effects to timeline and budget
  • Work with vendors on project procurements alongside project SMEs
  • Manage project quality and oversee testing activities
  • Collect and analyze user feedback for bug fix and continuous improvement actions
  • Communicate project statuses throughout the organization as required

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred; high School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development is required.
  • PMP Certification desired but not required
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management focusing on technology, operations, and software applications is required.
  • Project management experience should include managing multiple technology related projects simultaneously from cradle to grave
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite, including MS Project and Visio.
  • Excellent understanding of both waterfall and agile project methodologies and associated tools
  • Previous experience running projects and deliverables through pre-release testing and validation
  • ERP implementation and working knowledge of ERP systems helpful
  • Previous experience and demonstrated competency in Quality Management Systems, preferably ISO 9001
  • Strong technical aptitude is helpful (or desire and ability to learn!). We don’t need you to be an engineer, but it would be beneficial if you understood basic electronics theory, basic coding elements, and good manufacturing processes
  • Interest in automotive technology not required, but wouldn’t hurt!

Assembly technician

Job Description

HP Tuners LLC is a global leader in the automotive aftermarket, developing software and hardware for vehicle calibration.

The position will assemble and disassemble components using basic hand tools. They will work to fulfill orders, create and maintain documentation for the department and customers, kit and maintain inventory.

HP Tuners LLC maintains a 1 shift operation with potential overtime. A strong desire to maintain a 40-hour work week exists. This position is located on site in Buffalo Grove and all assembly operations will occur in an HVAC controlled environment.

This position reports to the Production Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Using demand planning techniques, determine work priorities and production schedules.
    Assembly of small electronic assemblies using basic hand tools
    Disassembly of small electronic assemblies using basic hand tools
    Visual quality control reviews
    Using automated computer programs to transfer data
    Kitting and packaging of products
    Documenting completed work
    Inventory upkeep functions

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development required
    Previous work in a manufacturing environment desirable is preferred.
    Ability to use small hand tools
    Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
    Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office
    Ability to understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
    Ability to perform visual quality control inspections
    Ability to plan and manage inventory levels.
    Soldering and diagnostic tools experience a plus but not required

Customer Support Technician – Tier 3

Job Description

HP Tuners LLC is a global leader in the automotive aftermarket, developing software and hardware for vehicle calibration. We are growing rapidly and are looking to add a Customer Support Technician to our team.

The Technical Customer Service Associate must be able to independently diagnosing and resolving issues within the HP Tuners production line using the tools and resources available with a high level of professionalism. The position will be responsible for assisting customers simple software issues, application keys, interface driver issues, customer support staff should be able to diagnose and resolve simple communication and read/write issues using the Debug.dat file.

This position reports to the Support Team Leader

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Field incoming phone calls in a parts call center environment as well as respond to emails from customers and process new parts orders in a highly professional and proficient manner
  • Provide answers to simple technical questions from customers, regarding products & parts
  • Provide remote software to assist a customer with basic issues
  • Identify and resolve all license issues
  • Identify and resolve all issues within a debug.dat (given the resources available) for CAN, SCI, PWM/VPW
  • Independently resolve all issues related to internet and internet required vehicles
  • Understanding of Hex Editors and how they relate to debug.dats (Decode VINs, serial numbers, etc)
  • Handles and resolves escalations from Tier 2 Support Staff
  • Creates necessary escalation cases for issues that engineering needs to resolve (read/write and code based issues)
  • Able to use ALL MPVI, MPVI2 features
  • Knowledge of where to best locate specific parameters
  • Setup Graphs/Charts/Channel Configs within VCM Scanner
  • Demonstrated knowledge of VCM Editor wizards and calculators and how they function
  • Ability to explain how to use Tuner Tools
  • Create and maintain Internal Support documentation for process workflow and troubleshooting
  • Additional responsibility as business needs dictate

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development required.
  • At least (2) two years of experience with tuning vehicles using HP Tuners software or similar is preferable
  • At least (5) years in a technical position, preferably in the after-market car industry or automotive-related industry is preferable.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with a team, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a high degree of professionalism is required
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.
  • Strong business acumen, organizational, time management skills and attention to detail is required

Systems Administrator

The Systems Administrator is primarily responsible for providing the best end user computing experience possible using the current systems while bringing new ideas to the organization. This position is responsible for assisting with the support of networking and communications technologies and the maintenance of the account maintenance, application services, and the associated hardware systems utilized throughout the facility.

This position reports to the IT Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or assist in the creation of system design and functional specifications for new technology projects.
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing and implementing new IT hardware and software solutions to support and enhance the business.
  • Work with vendors and business partners to implement quality technology solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software functionality related issues.
  • Identify opportunities that can improve efficiencies of business processes.
  • Document technical procedures and documentation for systems.
  • Conduct and/or partner with the training department to provide quality end user training.
  • Provide assistance and advice to business users and business analysts / project managers.
  • Continually update knowledge and skills by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, networking and attending vendor educational events.
  • Perform other duties within the Information Technology department or other areas as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Mobile Application Developer
