Tune Your MG1 Powersports Machine with HP Tuners

MG1 Service Explained

This one-time upgrade service is required to activate tuning capabilities for MG1 ECM-equipped models. To begin, you’ll need to remove your MG1 ECM and ship it to our headquarters, where it will be professionally upgraded for compatibility with HP Tuners’ VCM Suite software. This allows full access to diagnostics, tuning, and logging directly through the diagnostics port using the appropriate OBDII Adapter Cable.

Everything you need to tune your MG1 ECM-equipped powersports machine with HP Tuners:

  • This one-time, send-in Powersports MG1 ECM Service (upgrade service).
    • Select your “Vehicle Manufacturer” using the dropdown above.
    • Select the current “Calibration Type” using the dropdown above.
  • All supported Powersports machines also require an OBDII Adapter Cable.
  • Download the latest version of VCM Suite BETA for free.
  • Once upgraded, purchase the required number of Universal Credits to license your machine.
    • Find out how many credits your model requires on the vehicle page.
  • Powersports support is only compatible with MPVI2 and newer devices (except Sea-Doo models – MPVI3 only).

Important: Customers are required to have the BRP, Polaris, or Indian OBDII Adapter Cable for tuning. This service is not compatible with Honda powersports models.




  1. Send in Your ECM: Remove the original MG1 ECM from your vehicle and ship it to us for upgrading.
  2. Required Hardware: You’ll need our BRP or Polaris/Indian OBDII Adapter Cable and a compatible MPVI2, MPVI2+, or MPVI3 device (except Sea-Doo models – MPVI3 only).
  3. Licensing Credits: After upgrade completion, purchase the required number of  Universal Credits to license and tune your machine.
  4. Tune and Log: Once upgraded, connect with VCM Suite to tune, scan, and log through your diagnostics port using the OBDII adapter cable. Download the latest version of VCM Suite BETA.

Note: Universal Credits for licensing are not included in the cost of any upgrade service or purchase. Credits must be purchased separately.

  • ECMs must be free of physical damage, with intact connectors and tabs. All units must be fully functional prior to upgrade service.
  • For Sea-Doo tuning, this upgrade service is still compatible with a BRP B.U.D.S. flash, so no concerns if your ECM has to go back into the dealer for an update or recall.
  • This upgrade service does not alter the ECM’s VIN programming. Sending in a spare MG1 ECM will return it with its original programming and may require dealer reprogramming for functionality.
  • Tuning with other tools is not supported.
  • These ECM services are completed at the owner’s risk. HP Tuners will not be responsible for the vehicle, its powertrain, or electronics, nor how the ECM is used, calibrated, and its functionality.
  • Due to the factory location of the ECM in the vehicle, all ECMs will exhibit signs of weathering and wear, which is completely normal.

  • VCM Suite Software: Download the latest BETA version of VCM Suite here.
  • Credits: Purchase Universal Credits to complete the tuning process.
  • OBDII Adapter Cable: Be sure to use the appropriate OBDII Adapter Cable based on your model’s manufacturer.
  • MPVI3 Device Support: This support is compatible with MPVI2 and newer devices (except Sea-Doo models – MPVI3 only).
