Often when tuning shift timing you’ll want to tune pressure and shift TQ management to hit the shift time targets.
The shift time table uses Torque and engine speed to determine the target shift time. Most shift time transmission tuning uses this same logic. Different modes in the transmission can often have different shift time targets, like tow/haul mode on a truck or sport/track mode on cars.
Shift Adaptive
Often when tuning a late model transmission, you’ll need to reset the shift adaptive that the transmission module has “learned”. This should be done after your first major changes to the transmission tune are completed. The “Shift Adapt Reset” functionality is available in VCM scanner under “Controls and Special Functions”. Below is an example of how to reset shift adapt on a 6L80/90 using this function.
