HP Tuners Updates Support for GM T87A TCM

BUFFALO GROVE, IL, November 18th, 2025—HP Tuners is excited to announce a major update for GM transmission tuning—the T87A Transmission Control Module (TCM) no longer requires an upgrade service to enable tuning/diagnostics. This release removes the need for send-in upgrade services, allowing users to tune their T87A-equipped vehicles entirely through the OBDII port.
The new process provides a faster, more streamlined path to transmission tuning using HP Tuners’ industry-leading VCM Suite software and MPVI interfaces. With this release, the previous GM T87A TCM upgrade services are now obsolete.
The GM T87A update supports all previously supported GM vehicles equipped with the T87A TCM, including:
- 2015–2019 GM 2500/3500 vehicles with 6-speed transmissions
- 2017+ GM vehicles with 8-speed and 10-speed transmissions
Requirements for tuning:
- MPVI2, MPVI2+, MPVI3, or MPVI4 interface device
- Credit-licensing cost: (2) Universal Credit per TCM
- Latest version of VCM Suite BETA – Free download
