VCM Scanner 4.0


General:

The Help->About form now checks if a newer update is available.

Interface disconnects are now detected and handled appropriately when connected/scanning.

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 is the new system requirement.

The software will no longer prompt for application keys at startup if no application keys are found.

 

Scanning:

Fixed a bug where in some cases channels with higher intervals were prioritized higher than channels with lower intervals.

 

Parameters:

More parameters have been added.

 

Controls & Special Functions:

More controls & special functions have been added for many newer vehicles.

 

MPVI2:

Initial hardware release.

USB scanning fully supported, same as the MPVI.

Bluetooth pass-through scanning supported. On some vehicle, scanning over bluetooth may be slower than scanning over USB.

General:

Diagnostics and Info Readiness Tests now list tests that are Not Supported.

 

Scanning:

Fixed a bug where the scanner would randomly stop after an arbitrary length of time.

Improved the connect and protocol detection process. This fixes support for older ISO 9141 vehicles.

VCM Scanner 3.2


Files:

Support for 2.24 and prior config (.cfg) and histogram (.hst) files.

 

Scanning:

GM 97 V6, 97-98 LS1: Doubled the scanning data rate for these controllers.

More controller support has been added.

 

Parameters:

More parameters added.

More transforms added.

Improved parameter search string matching. Similar results are now returned.

GM 97 V6 now reports Timing Advance (SAE) with the correct +/- sign. The sign used to be reversed.

 

Controls & Special Functions:

GM Relink VATS for vehicles that support it, has been added. This function used to be in VCM Editor in 2.x releases.

GM Change VIN for vehicles has been added. This function used to be in VCM Editor in 2.x releases.

Ford KAM Reset (Copperhead, TC-1791, TC-1797).

Ford Crank Relearn bidi (Copperhead, TC-1791, TC-1797).

Dodge ETC Learn bidi feature for CAN vehicles, including 2008-2010 Viper.

Dodge Traction Control Enable/Disable bidi feature added.

Dodge Reset All Adaptives feature for added.

 

Layouts:

VCM Scanner 3.0


Global:

The software can now remember multiple application keys and interface license information.

VCM Suite Info form is now more informative.

Editor and Scanner both save vehicle history, allowing you to switch between vehicle profiles while offline to build channel configs more easily.

 

Core:

The scanner now remembers its layout and config automatically. No need to save a separate file every change.

New design allows multiple instances of any core display object (Plot/Gauge/Chart).

New design auto scales when the main VCM Scanner window is resized.

New design more clearly separates the visual layout from the channel configuration and logged data.

Zoom is now time based instead of frame based.

Scroll bar is now on the bottom of the main window, and shows an RPM plot.

 

Files:

.hpl files are saved using a new file format.

You can now open third party .csv files.

 

Scanning:

All scanned parameters are now managed through one display, the Channels Form.
- This combines the displays from VCM Scanner 2.x, Table Display and Status Bit Display

The internal scanning methods have been improved for faster scan rates.

OBD Support for CAN 250kb/s and ISO 14230 (European KWP 2000).

Windows Screen Saver and Sleep is suspended while scanning.

 

Parameters:

Broadcast parameters now supported.

Parameters now have default polling intervals set. These intervals can be adjusted.

Formerly known as "Histogram". We inappropriately used the term "histogram" since VCM Scanner 1.x. :(

Supports multiple cell selection with the ctrl key.

 

Maths:

Table Filters and Math Parameters now support avg() and slope().

Variable Wizard added to help expression creation

MPVI Interface:

Standalone Datalogging format has changed.
- You will need to write your config to the interface using VCM Scanner 3.0 or newer.
- You will not be able to read logs from the interface configured with older versions of VCM Scanner.
