Horrid Raw Fuel Smell at idle Please Help

I know i need to adjust the EOIT to help with the raw fuel smell, but i cant seem to figure out which table to move the ect rpm or boundary heres my tune file a recent log. My cam specs are 246/254 .649/.631 LSA 111 ICL 109 and valve timing is at .050 with a intake open 14 BTDC and close at 52 ABDC and on the exhaust open 60 BBDC and close 14 ATDC. I appreciate all of yalls help very much im still a rookie but trying to learn.

With that cam, I would say you could easily start by adding 20 to your injection timing boundary. You can start with less. In fact might be better off doing this, so you know you didn't overshoot it. I like using the boundary because it's pretty much the same throughout all year models - you add - it retards timing - you subtract - it advances timing You might even want to seriously drop down your cold start ect timing... Have seen some decent benefits with that with cams on warm restarts and cold starts in general.

Bassically keep changing the timing until your air fuel stops richening back up and you should be good and give it atleast 15 minutes before evaluating it to allow things to "relearn".

Do you have your advertised cam duration numbers? I've got a formula for calculating the injection timing from those numbers that really helps with the smell as well as idle stability.

Is the formula something you can share? I asked injector dynamics if they had something and they said no.

DSteck posted a sheet that helps calculate injector timing. Ghuggins has already tried to help you though. Have you tried what he already suggested?

Yes I have and it made a big difference, if there is a calculator I would like to see it. Do you know what thread it is posted in?

I have been wanting to adjust my Injector Timing to try and get rid of some of the smell as well as wanting it tuned properly to my cam specs which i hope will help with the 7 mpg's. I have gone through all the threads and have downloaded multiple spreadsheets for EOIT but still don't understand what changes should be made. At the suggesting of GHuggins i added 22 across the board to the Boundary Angle table and feel like i gained 1 mpg and if its possible a little more boost.

Any direction and insight on how to dial this in would be greatly appreciated. Current settings and CAM card attached.

    Thanks

This is how I do it....

    http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...l%2C+Desperate

Just start at the beginning, stick with it and one last suggestion...... Once you find the values at which your math comes out to, go back to the ect table and start adding back (10 at a time with rough adjustments then 3 to 5 to fine tune) during colder starts with 1/4 throttle snaps until the throttle "perkiness" comes back - This was left out of the original instruction.... You'll most likely wind up with soi around 360ish degrees crank rotation give or take to the direction of exhaust valve closing. You'll understand more what that means when you come up with your final result

    Hope this helps you out.
