Battery Power Cable Installation Procedure
The following steps outline the recommended procedures for utilizing the battery cable.
Required Tools/Items

1.

Locate a battery that is capable of producing a 12v charge or output. |
NOTE: When using a AC adapter instead of a battery, use a AC adapter with a 5.5mm x 2.1 plug, center positive plug.
NOTE: Wall warts that are capable of outputting 12 volts and 2 amps can also be used in place of a 12v battery.

2.

Connect your MPVI/RTD device to the battery cable. |

3.
|
Connect your vehicle/motorsport unit adapter to the opposite end of the battery cable. |
|
4.
|
Connect the opposite end of your vehicle/motorsports unit adapter to your vehicle or motorsport unit. |
NOTE: Refer to your vehicle or motorsport units owners manual to locate the diagnostic port.

5.

Connect the USB-C cable to your MPVI device and ensure the opposite end is connected to your laptop. If using an RTD device connect via bluetooth. |

6.
|
Plug in the battery power cord end into the battery cable box. |
NOTE: When using a AC adapter instead of a battery, use a AC adapter with a 5.5mm x 2.1 plug, center positive plug.

7.
|
Connect the red positive connector to the positive battery terminal. |

8.
|
Connect the black negative connector to the negative battery terminal. |
|
9.
|
Press the | switch on the battery cable box to turn ON the battery cable/ECM. Press the 0 switch to turn OFF the battery cable box/ECM or when prompted by your HP Tuners software. |
NOTE: When the power switch illuminates green, the MPVI/RTD and ECU is being supplied power.

10.
|
You now can utilize VCM Suite to begin tuning your vehicle or motorsport unit. |
