    Spark Retard Limit

    This seems to be a feature in "Brand C"'s product
    that sets the maximum amount of timing that can
    be pulled out by spark retard functions (the lowest
    "pull-to" spark advance). I don't see an equivalent
    tab in the VCM_Editor. This would be useful especially
    in trying to make a Torque Management setup that
    protected the trans, but was not allowed to pull the
    spark so grossly.

    Or maybe it's just "hiding under an assumed name"?

    Where are you talking about spark retard?

    In the editor I see spark retard settings for knock, traction control and maybe torque management.

    The first two are under engine in the spark retard tab. The last is in the transmission settings.

    yeah i know the one you are talking about. We will be including more tables on torque management in the near future.

    please make this a priority. one of the main reasons i ordered your package (hopefully soon it ships!) was to get rid of this 0 degrees on shifts. I go from 30.5 (6089) to 0 to 25.5 (4600).

    Still perplexed on the shifting. the tuner (ls1edit) set it to 6400 but for the life of me it will never shift past 6089, which is kinda silly with a 112lsa 224 cam since i got boat loads of hp past 6089, and the SE is way too low.

    Send me something beta if ya have to I need tq mgmt help and shift point help

    Shift Tq reduction is already in there as is the shift RPM and mph tables.

    Reason I'm after the max retard limit is I'm suspicious
    of how the torque-based shift spark management will
    behave; perhaps to go "over-the-top" and peg to -10
    as soon as exceeded, and then crawl back out? If it
    were fast and subtle I'd just set during-shift torque
    limits but don't know how it will play. I did get into
    some kind of ugly bog-for-two-seconds-after-WOT
    deal before I turned the torque limit value to 639....

    chris are you saying that my 0 degree between wot shifts is because my ls1edit tuner didn't set the tq mgmt to 639??

    i don't make 639 thats for damn sure.

    tips on how to delete tq mgmt safely? I don't need 30 degrees timing shifts but 0 seems kinda lame. somewhere there has to be a happy medium.

    Hows the shipping dates going? Can't wait to get mine!!

    did you zero out the shift torque reduction tables? What about abuse mode?

    You should never have to touch the minimum spark table unless you wanted to lock the timing for some reason

    in the trans section there is Tq reduction during shift tables. these are a % tq reduction during a shift. The actual amount of timing that is pulled is in another table, which this lookup refernces. There will be more torque management stuff added in the next release.
