I tried the search because I know this had to be asked.I got no results.
How hard would this be for a newbie IF it can be done? TIA

If the tune is in your vehicle and you have support from HPTuners for that vehicle, you can simply download it and start tuning the .bin file.
Well thank you for the fast reply.I will have to order my HP Tuner soon,it seems to be one of the best out now.

I believe DHP changes some info during the rewrite of the PCM locking the PCM so only their software will work...

yeah we get a few emails from folks about DHP PCM's. On many files we see the Operating System/CalID has been set to 0, also in many cases the checksums are invalid and the PCM ROM checksum tests have been disabled.
There is nothing we can do about these PCMs as we have better things to do than try and work out what "0" means and also verify that the calibration in the PCM is "correct" and not "corrupt".
Not having a go at DHP, just stating the facts of why many DHP PCMs need to be restored to stock before they can be used with our software.

DHP locks PCMs in such a way that no other software can read it.... this includes GM TechIIs ......
