timing again
what part of the timing would you change slightly to get
rid of some ping. any suggestions. ive been scanning cars for 7 years
with auto xray and autotap scantool and interface, but never
delt with timing issues and i was brought up on efi. thanks much.... :

Re: timing again
ping occurs from to much timing or too little octane, or your cooling system isn't up to par, which in turn, allows the cylinder heads to be too hot, causing detonation. try changing the fan temps to come on sooner, and change the thermostat. that could be the problem in itself.

Re: timing again
You would reduce timing in the main spark table in the areas where you see KR in the retard Histogram . e.g if you were to see 2 deg at 1400 rpm and .40 g/cyl in the Histogram then thats where you pull the timing .
The High Octane table would be the one to look at unless you are using SD with the maf unpluged or have set the maf fail fail frequency set to 0 then the low table would be the one to look at .
