Bronco Engine Swap

I'm in the process of putting a 5.0L HO out of a 94 Mustang automatic into a classic Bronco. The engine is coupled to a ZF 5 speed manual in a test stand and running with the Mustang PCM and wire harness.

I'm looking for information and/or product sources that will allow me to most effectively use the engine and control system. Questions such as:

Can I fake out the transmission signals to avoid trouble codes?

Does the Vehicle speed sensor input effect tuning and emmisions control?

Should I replace the PCM with one for a manual transmission Mustang?

Can the firmware be modified in the existion PCM?

Get an ECA from a Mustang with 4 or 5 speed and 302--simplest way to accomplish this. Yes, the VSS 'missing' does affect things.
