Does removing TM increase dyno numbers?

Let's say you go make a dyno pull to get HP/TQ numbers.
You whip out the tuner and remove all the TM limitations.
Now you make the dyno run again to check for increases.

Will you see any measurable change? Does it stay the same?
When does TM come into affect? When you go wide open and
between shifts? Any other times? If you're cruising along down
the highway at 2000 rpm, is TM pulling any timing?

I'm basically just curious to know if removing TM actually
gives you more power (that you'd see on a dyno) or if you
just "feel" those same dyno numbers more because you are
not getting hamstrung while trying to apply the power?

    Does my question make sense?

TM is mainly used to smooth shifts so that you don't spill your Latte... It won't do anything for you on the dyno unless you are recording shift points with the dyno.

well what does adjust the tq then. my 8.1L dynoed 311 lbtq from 1300 rpms to 4500 its flat as a pan cake. We did 4 pulls and it was the same every time. Gm rates the truck at 455lbtq at the crank. So im loosing 144lbtq some place.

    Thru the drvietrain. 4L80E +transfercase +14bolt corporate rear = 100odd ftlbs missing.
Never had a 6.0 truck deliver more than 220whp stock. Same motor and trans in the grandnational put down 330whp. (no tranfercase and giant rear)

Look to see if your getting false knock. If it;s modded in anyway it sets the knocksensors off like crazy.

lol.... so that could be a problem.

That was a sniffer, not sure how well that really read in a suburban... there is only like 20 feet, 2 cats and that huge freaking muffler..

TM is so misrepresented anymore. There are two controllers that employ TM, both the trans and engine controller. The engine controller uses TM to limit engine torque maximums, for things from plain old max power to preventing tirespin in low gears, as well as for TCS. Now, the trans controller uses TM only for reducing power during shifting.

There are MANY MANY tweaks to both to get max power.

Stock TBSS 6.0 puts down 310-320 HP to the wheels. Thats with AWD and 14 bolt rear as well. I'll grant you, the 4L80 does take a little more power to turn than the 4L70, but not that much.
