Is it at all possible to load a tune into the new MPVI interface, walk over to your car, hit the record button or what have you and have it upload the tune to your PCM without the use of a PC in the car? Just a thought

That'd be kinda cool...I had wondered about that as well.
Thanks for the question. I will make sure that the right people get it, and try to get an answer to you.

Never really thought about that, but it would be nice , no laptop needed.

that'd be sweet. Let it hold 2 tunes...
motor and nitrous tune
99 T/A. g5x4 cam. Now trying to figure out how to tune it...
I recall Ken talking about having some future ability, possibly something like this ... this was prior to the SuperChips deal. It would be very cool if it was still on the table.
Not exactly the thread I was looking for, but ...

The flash on board is 2MB so this should be possible for most ECMs. If only the calibrations are being written there should be plenty of space.
Personally I'd rather see the Ford/Dodge stuff get out the door first. Then I'd like to see a new hardware design come out that incorporates removable media (SD card for example), color LCD display, and wireless support (BT is very easy to implement). The Pro box is nice but could use some enhancements for the guys using it all the time.
its something they have considered...but its not a high demand thing...
adn its way down on teh list of things that have to get done...
all of teh ford and dodge stuff will be released long before they get to continuing on the idea of flashing with the little usb box..
the hardware side of it is pretty easy..the software side of it would be teh real kicker..there would be a huge amount of programming for it to work properly and not fry pcm's as the software is what usually does the checks...and all of that would have to be coded into the hardware side thru the software...

Well, if it does come to fruition, could you make the button sequence something incredibly difficult? Like push the record button twice in .25 seconds followed immediately by the stop button three times no more than .1 seconds apart?

yea I was wondering about something like this. Like is there a way maybe we can wire a switch to flip between tunes without having to reflash the computer? Like have a toggle switch for NA tune and nitrous tune? Some how have 2 tunes saved in the computer and flip to which ever one we want to use?
Hmmm. Nitrous tune, flip, NA tune... Not bad. It would be really tough to implement as there is no real *extra space* on the Flash ROM though.

How about piggybacking another memory and use the chip enable as the tune select?
hold R1 and L1 and hit up, down, left, right, right, left, down, up...err...wait wrong game..err software..Originally Posted by MeentSS02
