Thread: Max Torque vs. RPM

    Max Torque vs. RPM

Been doing a lot of searching but not an exact answer.

    Under Engine>Torque Mgmt>General

Should I be raising the Max Torque to something higher like 640?

Also within the Max Torque vs. RPM chart, should this be raised up to match max torque?

    Thanks for any help. 8)

    Re: Max Torque vs. RPM

I set my Max Torque to 600.

As for Max Torque vs. RPM, it appears to apply to A4 cars.

Max Torque vs. RPM: Maximum allowed engine torque vs. RPM, whilst TCC locked.

So if you have an A4, might wanna raise this table to something higher than you know you're making? Just a guess.

    From the help file:

Max Torque vs. RPM: Maximum allowed engine torque vs. RPM, whilst TCC locked

Leads me to belive it's for A4 cars.

Max Torque: Maximum allowed engine torque for Electronic Throttle Control fitted vehicles. This value is also used to control a torque based PCM output, this is used on some Holden vehicles to reduce Fuel Pump voltage when torque is below this value. WARNING: increasing this value on those vehicles will result in reduced fuel pressure, lean conditions and possible engine damage during high torque operation.

I kept Max torque at 350 while on the dyno under boost and the PCM reduced timing from 21 to 10 degrees!
Mine is a 98 F-body with a standard TB (not drive by wire, maybe different than Corvettes).

Depending on the year there is a value that will disable max torque. For the 98 PCM it should be 639 (?) Mine is set at 630 and the engine is running full timing.
