    2004 silverado with 2007 motor

Ok, friend had his 2007 silverado totaled ( roomate got t boned ) , anyway he took cash and kept his truck and bought a 2004 silverado with a 4.8L and is pulling the 5.3L and trans from his 2007 totaled truck. I have license for 2004 silverados ( 6 credits) so will there be any issue changing the ecm program to the 5.3L tables in his new 2004 truck that had a 4.8L ? I am thinking I can just change what needs to be changed for the larger engine etc and all will be ok ?

Only concerns are the 2007 was flex fuel and the 2004 4.8 was not, so guessing will have to swap fuel tank/pump lines. Only other differences was brake booster on 2004 was not on his 2007 but the not changing the brake system or computer.

Any other thing I need to look at ? Both are drive by wire, same trans, different gears but that's easy enough to change.

You don't have to bring the flex fuel stuff over if you don't want too. That truck just had bigger injectors and pump to be able to use it. You can just swap the short block with the transmission and use the 2004 injectors to keep it simple.

Then just change any of the other small details for swapping in the 5.3.

This 2007 is a classic silverado right, not a NNBS with a gen 4 motor??

Doesn't the 2007 have a 58 tooth reluctor and the 2004 a 24 tooth? In that case, you need the Lingenfelter conversion box.-----I don't know this for sure.
The crank sensor for the 24 is gray and the 58 is black, I think.

There are both Gen3 24X and Gen4 58X in 2007 trucks, it's the changeover year.
