    IAT does not control timing

I am wondering why the vehicle is not pulling timing. At 100% throttle the IAT goes to -40* yet the timing is unaffected. I am wanting to command -7* at that IAT but I can't figure out why. Can someone help?

try cranking it over or starting it... maybe it will update.

My only idea is that -40 is supposed to set a code, default criteria for -40 might just be to ignore the reading even if it doesn't set a code..

Sorry is IAT meaning intake air temperature???

wondering if I just inserted my foot in my vocal device..

why not resistor for high intake temps like say 200*F

Seems like something isn't right with the sensor or settings. Why would your iats go to -40 ?

I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that he was using a fake IAT reading to "trick" the ECM into pulling timing at WOT. Not uncommon for those running Nitrous

Yeah that is what I'd try too. Not sure what's being used to get -40, but I bet that is the problem.

Guess wasn't enough details. Never mentioned nitrous and I didn't think of it.

I'm having trouble opening your log, you using 2.24 or 2.25? Maybe post your config file as well?

Your not commanding -7 actual timing, your requesting that timing be retarded 7 degrees from the actual timing.. I think you know this but the post leaves me uncertain..

Your IAT spark MULT2 coolant temp multiplier is zero'd from 85 to 122 degrees.. IAT retard won't do anything if coolant temp is in this range.. Also it's .5@ 140degrees If you are in fact using this trick for nitrous then you should probably change the table.. If you hit nitrous in this range you won't get any retard.. Also noticed 212 and up changes the multiplier as well.. Less than 1 means your not going to get the full 7 degrees retard at that coolant temp..

Just a few things I noticed, maybe your aware of them, maybe not.. not being able to view your log means I can't even see coolant temp..

Nevermind, I had a brain cramp, I can now see the log.. you gave us a log of the car not running, Need to see a log of it running and failing to retard 7 degrees..
