    2013 Camaro SS DOD question

Can DOD be set to disable in the 2013 Camaro guys or does this require "hard parts" to do it? I've been reading everything I can find here using search but most of the info I'm finding is for trucks. I am not willing to "try" this one without some more information on the matter. If someone is familiar with the new Camaro equipped with the A6, tap shift trans and DOD could help a little, I would be again in your debt guys

you can turn it off but the crappy l99 parts will still be there. the part changes are to make it an ls3 except for the pistons.

Installed K&N intake and Flowmaster Pro cat back on the car. Have a strange drone happening at low load that I'm curious if disabling the DOD would have any effect on. Want to try it, but needed to know if I could actually give it a shot.... thanks HB
Been over the exhaust with a fine tooth comb so to speak, and cannot find anywhere that it is touching the frame either

Drone is one of the big exhaust complaints on the forums I have read with aftermarket exhaust. Solo has a J pipe axleback to kill the resonance.

The M6 with the exact same exhaust is just fine man, it's only on this one with the auto that it's "rearing its ulgy head"... lol
Got a link for this pipe in case we want to go that route bud?

Yes, that strange drone is the 4cly mode. Kill the DOD in the tune.

There are complete systems with J-pipes also, but here's the axel-back.

On the Camaro, I enable the DoD in 5th & 6th gear only.

Hey stranger... , Russ, have you dealt with one of these with an a/m exhaust yet? The car is in Ottawa until Monday. Sometime this week I'm going to hook up with John and try shutting down the DOD and see if it gets rid of this drone I'm talking about. From what I'm seeing here it sure sounds like it's the culprit. Reason I'm asking is; will he get this drone when enabled in those two gears, or does the increase in speed in those two gears cancel it out?
And looking at the "Disable vs Gear" I'm going to assume that a factor of "1" disables and "0" enables? There is no description in there associated with it man

0=enabled, 1=disabled. Also raise the low throttle upshifts, as these cars are in 5th by 52 kph causing a lot of vibration. I have the DoD disabled until 5th gear.

The car had SLP Headers, high flow cats & SLP Powerflow mufflers. No drone with this exhaust, but a lot of mufflers just make noise & drone.

    Had to post this up...lol

Guys, if you were ever to wonder if these Camaro's were worth tuning if they are stock or "mostly stock" the answer is "Oh bloody hell yes"!!! The difference is unbelievable, wow... just WOW!!

I shaved over 1 sec 60-100 off of my stock LS3 M6 Camaro tuning it on 60% E. Rail pressure is dropping at 80% IDC so I doubt I have enough fuel pump for E85.

Intake and hi flow cats shaved another .3 sec, more tweeking to come.

you can run e85 on the stock pump and injectors. not sure about cold weather yet, though..... prolly need a zl1 pump, minimum.

It'll get stored come November anyway. I logged 50 psi at the rail on E60 under 1/2 tank, .83 lambda @6k.

First snow til last salt it stays parked. She's a garage queen. lol.

Got the car today and finished it off. Disabling the DoD in the lower gears and leaving it enabled in 5th and 6th worked flawlessly! Drone gone.... told my buddy that if the DoD ends up driving him nuts in the higher gears that we can take it out altogether but for now he'll retain some of the fuel mileage from it. Raised the shift points a little like Russ suggested and it feels great now in lower TPS percentages. John is incredibly happy with the tune guys, thanks again so much for the insight and help!
