    IAC Position PID

Is this the pid used to log iac counts /steps? I am trying to work on a little surging problem i have had for awhile now.

the reason i am asking is because when i log that pid along with desired IAC they eventually climb to 310 - the desired one changes along with the iac position pid. i thought desired was supposed to be a constant.

of all the threads ive read - everyone says to shoot for 40-60 IAC counts, but mine is a lot higher...when using the scanner to drop it down - the car dies completely.

so i guess in short - how do you log iac counts and change the steps to what they should be? i have not been able to find a direct answer. :-/

I'm still kinda new at this but. I believe the PID you're lookin at is your IAC position, 320 is way out for idle, that's the computer trying to compensate for the cam, stock should be around 30-50 and I believe that gets changed indirectly by adjusting IAC park VS ECT. good luck

30 to 50 is what you should expect (low 40s is usually dead-on) at idle with your car completely warmed up.

ok. so let the car warm up before adjusting. - startup climbs to 310 but then backs down to 120

after the car has warmed up the first time, will i read the accurate counts everytime i start or will it revert back to the start up?

My IAC position is at 120-130 when starting the car and at idle. While driving it seems to be in the 130-150 range, is this OK or what do I need to adjust to correct this. I have a 224/114 cam in a 99 vette and am tuning with MAF disconnected. Thanks

it sounds like you are in the same boat i am. I have yet to do these instructions as my cable stopped working shortly after the post. I had to send it back in and am waiting for it return.

From what i was understanding, you will also need to adjust the idle set screw (on tb) in order to get the iac down to 30-50. It As for the driving part, i havent logged mine while driving but i assume the higher number is because your foot is on the accellerator keeping the TB blade open.

do you have any issues when starting the car? ie idle hunting.

My car idles pretty good and yesterday when it was warmed up my IAC was dropping to 90 and the idle wasent as good as when it was higher. I dont believe vetts have that adjusting screw, its all computer controlled. I would like to know if IAC at 100 is ok if the idle is good or will it effect another area.
