So it looked like it was putting more tension on the belt as the rpms/power increased. Isnt' that a good thing?
2000 T/A - Thompson Motorsports 416ls3, F1A procharger, HP tuned. Just a couple psi of boost.
2013 Mercedes C350, wish HPtuners worked.
Actually the belt stretches from the load. In an idea world the tensioner maintains an equal tension on the belt while it has stretched
Aaaahhh, makes sense.

Very interesting. I plan on doing an in-engine bay version with my GoPro hero HD camera (on a TBSS D-1SC)

The tensioner I'm running is part of the www.houseofboost.com procharger kit. I have their custom bracket with slide tensioner and huge spring tensioner.
You can see some of the pics of it in here:

That's pretty damn cool, makes me wonder how much a stock tensioner on say an ls1 moves.

a pretty significant amount apparently.

I love seeing them work. I work with big air moving equipment on a daily basis. My full time gig I test commercial and industrial HVAC. When you get to some of the big setups they run 6 and 8 cogged 3/4" wide belts it's awesome to see it working in action on our engines

It's interesting how the tensioner jumps when the BOV opens at about 45 seconds in. The load the S/C is putting on the crank is visually represented. Great video. Thanks!
