The second option will be cheaper.
I already paid (by Paypal) to upgrade my regular serial cable to the serial EIO cable, but never shipped my cable in.

Can I just apply that payment (plus any difference) to the cost of a USB EIO (when released), or would it be easier to just refund the payment and start over, or ???

    OK, done.

Can you give us a hint of what the upgrade path will be? Will we need to send in the old cable to be upgraded/replaced/whatever like last time, or will there be other options?

im pretty sure your going to have to send in your old cable, then wait about another week or 2....just more down time

you will have to send in your old cable before the new one is issued. The turnaround should only be a few days.

Question as asked via e-mail as well.

1 method of asking a question is adequate. Duplicate methods will cause double work on us and cause even further delays.

Any news on the LS2 stuff? Getting closer? I've done chewed through all my fingernails and have started on the toenails. Not sure how long I'm gonna last!

and all I'm really gonna say is...you would be smart to last as long as it takes...
after all..do you really want to even atempt it with the other option..ls2 edit...which is still just ls1 edit only for the ls2.....and you can still fry a pcm with lsx edit

i'm not sure that ls2edit fries PCMs, in fact if they do it's a major feat as GM designed the new software to be "unfryable", even when rewriting the operating system.

USB EIO and LS2 are not related, the USB EIO will work on all existing (and new) vehicles.
