    Tuning for fuel economy

There are tons of writeups on tuning for POWER and speed

What if you have a duramax truck or something and you want to tune for fuel economy? anyone have a writeup on that

It can be done, but all vehicles come calibrated for fuel economy/reliability from the factory, so don't expect high improvements in mileage.

Dial your fuel trims in using a WB, adjust lockup and unlock speeds, increase your cruise timing. I still get over 30mpg with my GS that has 3.69s, 3k stall, cam, intercooler, MPS with a 2.6 pulley, etc.

You have to be kidding. There are plenty of gains in fuel economy to be had if you lean on them.

I said "it can be done"

What I mean, you shouldn't expect to gain lots of MPG.

Ok so improving by 2L/100km average even with a cam you wouldn't call lots..

I was planning on buying one of these systems for that very purpose. I have tuned lots of imports and have gained as much as an extra 100 km per tank with tuning. Unless there is something wildly different with domestic cars and trucks, I am expecting to see similar effects.

I dont know anything about tuning a diesel though, but hope to learn that too. If you beat me to it, let us know how it goes. Otherwise Ill be working on it in a couple weeks

When I first got my 07' vette the factory tune gave me 25.3 MPG. After installing all the stuff shown in my signature and having EC-Tune do the tuning
my MPG went to 30. I thought that was a pretty big deal.
