    Idle won't go below 2k

Just got done installing a new engine in my 97 camaro. It is a 3.8l v6. When I fire it up it goes right away to 2100-2200 RPMs and doesn't go down. I checked the vac lines and didn't notice any leaks or loose connections. I am unsure with what the problem is unless the tb blade is not closing all the way and sealing it off. The tps shows 0% so maybe there is some air slipping around the sides otherwise. I dunno, hopefully somewhere here can help me. Below is a quick scan of one start up and my tune

The TPS is at 0%, so the throttle is closed. Was the throttle body ported? Check for vacuum leaks.

Yes, but you need to compare them to the exact same conditions without a problem. So no....

If TB is closed, and IAC isn't stuck open, then there HAS to be a leak. Any holes drilled in the blades? Too large holes will cause it.

If TPS is showing blades closed, verify the actually ARE closed.

You beat me too it Jerry! I was gonna suggest that as well. I never had an idle problem that high, but when I did the TPS relearn, idle was much better.

Hmmm, TPS sensor problem maybe? Not sure what it would idle like then, but someone said "0%" throttle. I usually look at the TPS voltage at idle which is always tiny, but not 0.

What are the chances you have a intake manifold leak? Or bent Throttle body blade?

fully depress gas pedal - key on - wait 5 seconds - key off - release gas pedal

key on - wait 5 seconds - key off

fully depress gas pedal - key on - wait 5 seconds - key off - release gas pedal

key on - wait 5 seconds - key off

fully depress gas pedal - key on - wait 5 seconds - key off - release gas pedal

key on - wait 5 seconds - key off

fully depress gas pedal - key on - wait 5 seconds - key off - release gas pedal

It may not have 100% effect the first time. After doing the TPS relearn, TPM may drop to 1500. Let car run a couple minutes, turn off, wait 30 seconds, turn on... drops to 1200.. then 1000... then 800 or so.

Final RPM cannot be decided until ALL fluids are up to normal operating temp. Do not expect your car to run at 750 RPM during the first 5 seconds in 30F degree weather.
