    6 Speed Allison tuning

Can HPTuners read and flash the entire 2MB flash in the 6 speed TCM?

While on what can be done, do you give access to the shift tables for "Default mode"?

in theory yes we can, but we don't. It takes around 45mins to completely read the TCM. So we just read and write the cal only.

So if for some reason someone wanted to spend the 45 minutes to read the TCM, would it be possible to arrange it? As for flashing, if the cal write speed is any indication, an entire write should be about 7 minutes.

    Not currently.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

What would you want to wait the 45 min for? Just curious. What advantage would this give you???

Well, Assuming both full read and write where possible, one reason would be if one had an 07 (classic) Duramax/6speed and wanted to turn off adaptive upshifts or adaptive downshifts. AFAIK, those options exist in the 06 tunes, but not in the 07. If you could full read an 06 TCM, then full flash that tune into the 07, you could then disable the adaptive up/downshift.

Thanks for explaining .You learn something new everyday..

Is that because Gm updated the tcm then? I always thought the 06 & 07 classics were the same.

The problem with many of the late model pcm's & tcm's is if the bootloaders don't match you could end up with a brick on your hands making write entires more harmful then anything for the most part. This is why we don't offer write entires for some applications & don't recommend ever doing one unless absolutely necessary.
