    Trigering N20 relays with the Analog outs?

    I'm setting my truck up for a 2 stage N20 system and I was wondering if there is a way to use the out puts on HPtuners to control the relays to fire each stage.

    I will be using a window switch, but If I could run a program that fired the 1st stage in first gear then the second stage in 2nd / 3rd gear, I would be totally happy.

    I think I saw something mentioned about using PCM grounds as grounds to the relays. Could someone fill me in on this?

    I figure if I had a NA tune, single stage tune and a 2 stage tune that is preset pulling timing for the hit's of N20 I would A) never forget to pull timing when using the N20 and B) if I did forget to change the tune, well, the N20 would not come on.

    BTW, the laptop always is sitting shotgun as it's my guages ect in my 63..

    What would be even better is if you could use that analog out as a PWM Instant nitrous controller...

    One thing you can do it set yourself up an in car test without the bottle

    Just use the outputs to fire a relay or to fire an LED, pretty much anything.

    You could wire the relay to a 5V source and then log that output with HP Tuner and you could log the results and know when it switched from 0 to 5 volts it was activated like you wanted it it be.

    Good luck.

    sounds interesting, how would you pick an out put? Is it as simple as using the pins for the electric fans?

    Could you run them to the input side of the cable and use that reference voltage as loged data while you drive to see if it's coming on and turning off?

    I'm thinking these might be good trigers for both on and off. But does the = sign work?

    Enable Chanel 1:
    [sens.20] > 35 and [sens.70] > 5,000 and [sens.90] >98 and [pid.4120] = 1 and [aux.20121] < 12.9

    Disable Chanel 1:
    [sens.90] < 97

    Enable Channel 2:
    [sens.20] > 70 and [sens.70] > 5,500 and [sens.90] >98 and [pid.4120] > 1 and [aux.20121] < 12.9

    Disable Chanel 2:
    [sens.90] < 97

    Sens.20 = vehicle speed
    Sens.70 = RPM
    Sens.90 = TPS
    pid.4120 = Trans Gear
    aux.20121 = AFR

    Without reading too much into what you are doing, I would not use the AFR as a reference. I would only use the min for triggering, just to keep it simple.

    You could try it and see what it did though.

    Yes you can use the outputs to trigger an event. Read the help files as they won't carry any amperage load. I was all fired up to do many creative things with the outputs of my new EIO but quickly found out that you must have the laptop hooked up to activate them. They won't work with standalone EIO.
