    2006 Suburban Flex Fuel Disable

Is it possible to disable flex fuel? If so how? I am never going to run the corn. My suburban is bone stock with a tune. Thanks

Are you positive that it's even enabled right now?

All you have to do is set the stoich table to 14.2ish for E10 fuels and select disabled or whatever in the flex fuel tab.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

06 L59 is virtual flex. Engine>Fuel>Open & Closed Loop>Flex Fuel>Disable. Then it will use the Stoic AF Ratio in the 0% column. I've seen Gen 3 virtual flex L59s get it wrong like a lot of Gen 4 virtual flex.

2xLS1, what year did they go to virtual and drop the sensor? I didn't have quick access to an 06 file, but just looked at an 02 and 03... and they had a sensor

On the L59 06 was the first year for virtual flex. 05 L59 was the first year the fuel rail was returnless.

There is no flex fuel disable switch. Under Engine>Fuel>Open closed Loop. Open Loop there is EQ Ratio and EQ Ratio Alcohol tables. No Switch

Any bets on how many more posts this goes on for before the actual tune file in question gets posted?

No lol, and it's a stupid request anyway. "Regular" gas can contain up to 10% ethanol. Leaving FF enabled is best.

Eh, not really. Where I live, I don't think it's possible to buy anything other than E10. No straight gas, no E85. Not that I know of anyway.

And virtual flex is dumb hot garbage that relies on guessing. Anything that affects LTFT can get transferred over into ALC%, even when there's no alcohol in the fuel at all. Physical sensor or nothing.

I turn off Virtual flex on everything, for the reasons Squirrel just said. Turn that junk off, and set the Stoich to 14.2 or install an actual sensor and set all the correct parameters

Am I just brain fogged before not enough morning caffeine, or am I correct in thinking the LM4 went returnless in 03. I wonder why they waited 2 more years on the L59. Hmm...

Gen 3 non flex was regulated at the rail with a return in 03. They went returnless at the rail in 04. I don't know why L59 flex waited another year.

Sorry that's where it is in the older software. In the newer versions Flex Fuel has it's own tab under Engine>Fuel. It should be there even if you are in basic view

100% gas No E is available everywhere around here. And Virtual Flex doesn't always work as advertised. I see virtual FF vehicles running 100% gas reporting 30-40% E content all the time.

I turned my virtual FF off as per some great advice. One less loopy thing to throw off my tune!
