Yes it is, instead of one fixed low temp to trick the computer, this is a variable resistor that you can adjust what your temp reading is. Since in SD the IAT is used for airmass calculations and spark corrections, this is nothig more than a air/fuel dial really. Turn it to cooler temps and it will richen up, higher for leaner. I can adjust the fueling approximately 3 full points going from 45-100*F
