I was wondering if it is ok to leave the MPVI Pro plugged in all the time to the port under the dash? It gets its power from there so I'm wondering if it will hurt it.
Thanks

You can count on a dead vehicle battery.
That interface uses a lot more power than the serial interface.

Agreed 100%...even my serial unit drained the hell out of my battery. My serial unit also started to overheat. Definitely NOT a good idea IMO.Originally Posted by Ken@HPTuners
that was the only thing that dissapointed me about the design..no on off switch
it can get power from either the car via the PCM port..or thru your USB...
needed to be possible thru both due to black box logging....
its probably easiest just to reach under the dash and pull the plug lose from the OBD port if you really want to leave it in the vehicle...
but I highly suggest taking the USB box out of your vehicle as its smaller than a lot of cell ohones and you could just stick it in your pocket..
