    440CI Z - Idle and WOT help

    Hi,

    I'm tuning a friend's 2007 Z06. It has 440CI Engine, Heads, Cam, Intake and an NW102.

I'm facing some issues that I would appreciate any help on. Here it goes:
    • I'm having some startup issues. The car starts fine, cold or hot. However, it takes around 10 seconds of bouncing around and almost dying before it settles.
    • The car bucks really bad upon take off. You have to give it lots of throttle in order to move and it will buck very bad before moving. It also sounds very bad when bucking. Almost sounds like fireworks.
    • When playing around with WOT (Not calibrated yet) The car will start leaning out after 5500 RPM. No matter how many times I calibrate the MAF it will lean out. I'm doubting two things here, one is that I need more pump. IDC is @ 75% all the way. The second things that I'm doubting is the injectors. Owner says they are FAST 60# but I don't think he's 100% sure. I took one injector off and it only says FAST and there was no part number or anything to verify.
    • Why is the car not commanding 14.7 @ Idle and normal driving?

I'm attaching a log and the config.

    I appreciate all the help!

    Thanks

Post the tune too so we can see how you've got the throttle body and idle setup. The102s are pretty finicky for idle tuning and off idle performance. They take a lot of work to get just right.

Are you tuning the VE? I like running the E38s in speed density. Especially with bigger cams. The card style MAF is too sensitive and causes bucking and jerkiness. SD tuning them smooth's all of that out.

PS didn't look at the log. Don't need to. Done several of those almost exact setup.

Thank you, please find the tune attached. I'm tuning only MAF for now. I wasn't planning to go SD and use the other tool or upgrade the OS. Do you think that this is a must?

I think you will need to look at the tune the see the lean WOT issue

    Thanks

I think your WOT issue is related to pump. Better to check for FP during your run.

under Diagnoses (max out your airflow vs RPM and airflow vs Ign) i have seen that it helps

looking at your log for FRAME 1245 you start exceeding the airflow limit
    also your PE needs work

you may need to scale your tune.

your poor drivability seems to have to do with how your timing is all over the place

So I figured out what was the issue. The injectors were 46# and not 60# I had to do trial and error till I found out. Car didn't lean out and IDC was at around 95%. Will continue tuning and see where it goes. Still idle is giving me some hard time though
