Eliminating Trans Controls?

Ok long story short I'm swapping a 98 4.3L engine out of an s10 into my 97 forwinns boat that had the Volvo Penta 4.3l engine yada yada anyway. I want to keep the EFI setup and pretty much swap over the entire motor ECU and everything from the s10.

Can I disable all the transmission control stuff that would generally be used for the 4l60e because I'll be using the boat transom which really has no electrical connections that I'm aware of. And yes I'll be running in open loop because I won't be able to install O2 sensors.

then don't worry about any trans stuff, it may throw codes but you can disable them anyway
