    Write Failed vcm timed out

I was in the middle of write calibration only when it came up and said VCM timed out at loc: 1000.

So I tried a write entire got the same thing this time at loc: 8000

Tried pulling the radio fuses and got timed out error at loc: CE20

The high speed box is not checked on the write calibration screen.

Has the vehicle been previously tuned? We see this occasionally on pcm's that have been previously tuned with handhelds.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

    1998 Chevrolet Tahoe

I just spoke with the customer and he said that he uses a hypertech for his different tire sizes.

I can flash the truck back to stock with a tech 2 if thats what I need to do.

Yeah you will need to flash back to stock and then reread with our software.

Post the file you're trying to write to the pcm and I'll have our engineer take a look. Theres no reason for our software not to be able to write unless its running into a communication issue with your pcm for some reason.

Yeah because they are failing at random locations its probably just a communcation issue, you can try writing in low speed mode to see if that will allow a write, otherwise tracking down the inline module that is affecting comms would be your best bet. It really could be anything from an aftermarket stereo to an air ride suspension module to anything in between thats on the same bus as the pcm.
