Question Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn Procedure

    Hi all.

New to the LS world and new to tuning.

I purchased a LS3 e-rod engine with a hot cam a long time ago. I have finally gotten to a point where I am working on getting the vehicle road worthy. The e-rod install manual provides a coupon for Crankshaft Position System
Variation Learn Procedure at a dealership. Unfortunately, the dealerships wont do it for me as my car is too old.

Is this something that I can do on my own with the VCM Editor?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Dan

Not with the Editor, but with the Scanner. Be aware that there are conditions that must be met for the relearn to be enabled - engine idling, coolant temp above a certain point, it must see the park brake input as 'park brake applied' so whatever your donor vehicle used for wiring there has to be sending the right signal to the right ECM pin, etc.

Thanks for the response! I bought a crate motor from Pace Performance in 2012. Embarrassed that it has taken me this long to get it going

I just hooked up the scanner and it said that the function was not supported.

Would I get this message if the ECU did not see a parking brake?
