    another newbie. tuner says he never locks tune, look at this...

    Try not reading it in high speed mode. Check for power at the OBD 2 port, if you have an aftermarket radio remove the radio fuse and try reading it again.
    2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

    If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

    Ok, I'll try reading it that way, I've run several scans just fine so I don't think power is a issue at the port, and it's the stock radio. Thank you for a real reply, I appreciate it. MM

    Tried reading it again, failed again and got the reduced power message on the dic while it was reading.

    That's normal and fine, vehicles do weird things then you read and flash them. Dont worry and let it be, leave the key on engine off until the VCM Editor says the read is complete. Then turn it off for 15-30sec.

    Have you been able to read it successfully before?

    Glad you got it read successfully! It's a bit disconcerting the first time you read/write a vehicle, but the best action is to NOT do anything and let the software/hardware do its magic.

    Are you able to write the tune back to the controller?
