Thread: ls1/t56 swap dfco?

    ls1/t56 swap dfco?

I have a 92 Camaro swapped with an ls1 and t56 using a 411 ecm from an 01 trans am with a 1 bar sd os. My question is, is dfco possible without a clutch anticipation switch? I have been trying to get it to work, but then realized that I didn't use the switch for the swap. So I didn't know if was because of that or if I didn't have the map settings correct since it has a bigger cam in it.

    Thanks,
    Jay

Works for me in my 97 Silverado 5 speed 411 pcm swapped truck, no anticipation switch for me either. Just make sure your map enable is set a couple kpa above your lowest off throttle map transition.

I don't believe (can be corrected, lol) that it even uses that clutch switch for DFCO... it will enter DFCO when you just shut off at a suitable engine speed, if the set conditions are met, obviously...

So if i idle around 55 to 60 kpa what would be a good starting number for map entry and exit? Also is -22*f the correct enable temp? I only ask because when i looked in the repository at an 01 vette it was 85*f. Stock 01 f body was -22*f, just seemed odd to me.

Your coastdown kpa readings will be lower than your usual idle kpa make a few logs of where it usually falls to when coasting in gear. Good spots for this are when your letting off the throttle to slow down from say 75-45 (the usual speed limit's coming into town where I live)

So i attached a log that i just did, based off of that i was thinking 30 for entry and 41 for exit, does that sound about right? Sorry for all the questions just trying to understand it and make sure im on the right path. Thanks.

Mine idles around 60kpa and I currently use 30 & 40... I have the enable temp at 50C just because it would probably annoy me coming in during cold warmup! i also have it set to come in later (i.e. at higher RPM) in the lower 3 gears...
