Is there a way to control timing by gear?

Wondering if there is a good way to control timing by gear? I would guess its through the torque management functionality. But I don't really know how.

My reason for asking is because my car routinely gets some knock in 3rd gear that doesn't show up in 1st or 2nd. I suppose it's more load on the engine. Wondering if there's a way to pull some timing when hitting 3rd.

The car is a 2010 Camaro supercharged. Manual.

Wondering this too, had same issue with my supercharged ecotec. Would like to see any input on this by some of the more knowledgeable people

Do you see higher cylinder airmass in 3rd? If so there's your solution.

I'll have to look at this. I think I see what you are saying...if I'm only getting to this higher state of cyl air mass in these higher gears then I can just pull the timing down in that part of the main table?

    I'll check my logs...

Well...checked my logs. Unfortunately, I am not seeing higher cyl air in 3rd gear as opposed to 1st and 2nd gear.

So...back to the original question. Can timing be controlled by gear?

I am unaware of a way but I've honestly never spent that much time looking.

It can know gear based on speed and a lookup table. I am just unaware of timing modifiers by gear. Most common things modified by gear would be WGDC or boost. Haven't really come across anything in experimenting with different platforms where timing is modified by gear unless of course you're hitting higher load in higher gears and can just modify the main timing table appropriately.
