i have a 3rd gen camaro i'm working on and it's been nothing but trouble from the start. I have it where it won't die at idle, but it is surging very badly, but consistently. It has chinese 80# injectors in it and i think that could be the root of the problem. I've had a hell of a time getting fueling correct, and it still is nowhere near correct. i started tuning the MAF and it was running at .75 lambda all the time. i took 25-30% out of the entire MAF table several times. Now, it shows rich as before, but randomly shoots up to 1.09 lambda when driving, but still runs around .75-.79. i questioned my wideband, but tuned a bolt on 6.0 truck yesterday and it was perfect.
this car had some kind of mail order tune in it already i believe and was set up for a 5.7. i've tried getting it right for the 5.3 but i'm starting to think there's a mechanical or wiring issue. It had a ported and epoxied throttle body that was causing major issues. i got rid of that and it runs a LOT better. I will say my current tune is a little on the hacked up side as i obviously dont have data for chinese 80's and it's currently in SD mode because i was starting the think the MAF was jacked up, even though it seemed to read as it should. Anybody got any suggestions or see any major issues? i've attached the current tune and an idle log. i ususally dont have this much trouble tuning a heads/cam car, but i also usually have good injectors in it, so i'm curious is that's my problem here...$200 ebay 80's.
