    Boost

Bought a 2014 Cruz Eco four days ago. Finally hooked up the laptop and found her running 28lbs of boost at peak. Is it safe to assume this car was tuned or is something being read wrong in the computer?

I bet you're reading total manifold pressure.

You have to subtract atmospheric from total to see how much boost you're running. I.E. 28 - 14.7 = 13.3lbs of boost.

Thank you. Gonna hook up a boost gauge tomorrow.

Yup. Sure enough. Boost gauge installed, peak of maybe 13lbs.

If you have a barometric pressure sensor, you can set up a PID to log boost. It's simply [ MAP in psi ] - [ Barometric Sensor in psi ]. If not, just make it [ MAP in psi ] - 14.7

    It's what I do on my LSJ-T.
