    Graphs and channel questions

When replaying a log file created with 3.0.XX the graphs populate all the data in the cells at open before playback started.
Is this normal? 2.24 populated histogram cells during playback.
When playing a log file created with 2.24 in 3.0.xx some of the PIDS recorded in the table display are not the same in 3.0.xx so not data is displayed for those PIDS.
How can you convert 2.24 PIDS in a log file to the correct channels in 3.0.xx so the data will display in the charts, graphs, and gauges?
The scanner in 3.0.xx is a big improvement compared to 2.24 but the learning curve is hard!!

You'd have to just change what you're using for column/row axis parameters to match up with the 2.24 logs if you want the 2.24 logs to show up properly. They have spent some time trying to get most things to line up but ultimately looking at old logs is only worth so much.

You no longer have to play a log or hit the "load all data" button to load everything into histograms. It's automatic now.
Post a log and tune if you want help

"looking at old logs is only worth so much"
But if you have 2.24 logs from dyno runs with different configs the data helps on vehicles you tuned over the past few years.
Problem is MVPI inputs are not working in graphs and and non linear MVPI inputs are not compatible with 3.0.
Another reason to have 2.24.xx to coexist with 3.0.xx so older log files display correctly.
Also when you save a layout with a different configuration why does if save the gauge, graph, and chart configuration but not the channels config?
Need a user setting to save everything in a layout file.
What does the lock layout command do?

Channel config saves what you're logging. Layout saves charts/graphs/gauges. Not a huge deal.

I too wish there was a "global" save option that captured math parameters, layouts, channels and anything else I'm forgetting, but that doesn't exist

What input are you wanting to use that is non-linear?

Please post a log if you want me to try to figure out a way to make graphs/charts work correctly with MPVI inputs from 2.24 files

STACK oil temp gauge with a nonlinear voltage output vs temperature.

That is pretty dang close to linear for most of it's range.. I don't see why you wouldn't just come up with the formula that best matches that data and be done with it. I know it isn't perfect...

In the 3.0 channels MPVI 4 is oil temp with a non linear transform but the 2.24 log file MVPI 4 output is not compatible.
In the 3.0 and 2.24 MPVI 2 & 3 are 0 to 5 volt inputs that need a user defined transform in 3.0. The voltage displays in the channels but not in the graph when playing the 2.24 log.

The first 2.24 log I posted had a limited number of PIDS. It was a log recorded in the MPVI interface.
Full 2.24 log attached logged with a computer.

I don't see anything in the channel list regarding MPVI 4 in that log?

    I see MPVI 1, 2 & 3

Does the same log show something from input 4 if you open it in 2.24? I don't have 2.24 on this computer

2.24 shows MPVI 4 as oil temp and displays a reading in F.
Not supported in 3.0.xx because the histogram is a nonlinear formula.
MVPI 4 in 3.0.xx shows unsupported ID number.
I have a copy of version 2.24.1168 if you need software.

Yeah if you can get me a copy of 2.24 that would help. I can send you a link that you can use to send it to me if you don't have an easy way of sending it. PM me your email address.
