Creating custom PID in Scanner v3.0

So I have been trying to calibrate my MAF to the 4" MAF housing and have done a few drives. Right now my Table is set up with LTFT against MAF period. The thing is I'm used to using a custom pid defined as ([LTFT+STFT])/2, this would of averaged out both long and short. From there I could set up a histogram and select this PID to go against MAF period.

The issue is I have not been able to figure out how to create custom PIDS in v3.0. It was easy in v2.24

What I want to do is set up is the following:

    LTFT1+LTFT2/2 = LTFT
    STFT1+STFT2/2 = STFT

    LTFT+STFT/2

IF this can't be done, my other idea would be to calibrate using STFT, once i get those close to zero, change the PID to LTFT

I think it's called user defined now. Under tools and math.

    just do it by LTFT.

STFT are going to throw you off as they adjust to accommodate temporary conditions like EVAP, etc.

even better yet, simply disable closed loop and use the factory widebands and lambda error to dial it in real fast.

There is a default math parameter for doing just this already built in.

Thanks guys, I found the match section and figured out how to add it to the histogram. Does this look like it's set up to log MAF period correctly?

I'm not understanding why you add long term and short term or when and what you would use that for.maybe just gives you a total fuel trim?

The defined parameter also doesn't average it by dividing by two.

That is how I'm used to calibrating the MAF. I may have been recalling it wrong when I divided by 2, since my configs aren't accessible I cannot go back and check my old histograms. For us we would replace MAF frequency with MAF period, but same logic applies

Ok that explains % -half. I was confused when I saw /2 and was reading about apply it as %-half.

its a popular way to do it but I don't think it works well. I use LTFT only or open loop only.

I disable adaptive, and dial in by STFT.

Kinda long and he's talking about diagnosing, but I think it applies well to the conditions of when we should use what fuel trims while tuning the MAF.

Stft adaptive off sounds like the best way. I'm going to try it out.
