Trans Type field, What does it actually do?

I searched and cant find what Im looking for,

Does it change the programming for the different types of trans? if so why would we need to do a segment swap?

What is the difference between Manual and Non-Elec Auto? a list of what each one does would be better.
Do these disable the functions like torque management?

Basically I ask because I have a stock 5.3 (previously 4L60E) that was swapped into a car with a 700-R4. I plan on road racing it (full manual ratchet shift) so I dont want the computer doing odd things when I shift at WOT or whenever. I know to tune this correctly I would need an indicator from the trans at the start of the shift to lower timing until the shift happens so the engine doesnt spark knock due to severe load change (particularly on upshifts at WOT). I;m not sure how I will accomplish that yet but ill figure that out when/if the car gets on track. The torque converter will be manually engaged so no worry with that.

    Thanks

I would like to know the answer to this as well, I can't seem to find anything about it.

Trans type, will not perform the "segment swap" That is done with the utility
Why I do in cases like yours is simply flip it to manual, or if available non electric auto. Therefore its not trying to command shifts,
as far as having an input from the trans that tells it when its shifting, maybe someone has something available, but if there is something I m sure the work would not be worth the reward
