Anyone done inj spray pattern testing vs power

I had a long while ago, but never got finished since shop fire.

I know that unless you have control of your end of injector timing, some ECUs leave some power on the table if you run a way large injector where your only running it say 40-60% duty cycle

Assuming a 80-90 duty cycle NA motor,

This is a newer part number that superceded an old one that was a cone shape, not sure on this exactly http://www.racetronix.biz/itemdesc.a...I11354&eq=&Tp=

Unless you can find a shop that has done testing and giving results you would have to run the injectors, retune the car and use dyno and vcm scanner to log the end results. There are a lot of different pintle designs on modern injectors which you will only ever see the spray pattern properly by putting them in an injector test bench.

Fuel atomisation, port size and where the injector is located will also play a crucial part in the atomisation and burn rate but you really can't test for this unless it's on a dyno or you have some way of setting the intake heads and fuel system up on a bench and powering up the injector to see how well the fuel atomises onto the back of the head of the valve.

I know this is only my second post here so I am a newb to the tuning scene but have been a mechanic for 11yrs and own and operate an injector test bench. Indexing spark plugs is another good way to get the burn rate the same on each cylinder and usually can free up a little more power.
