Why is this E38 pcm going into MAF mode?

Not set to go into Highspeed (MAF) mode until 8000+ rpm, MAF fail set at 0 Hz?

Just looked at it go from normal to high speed air calc mode at first.

Is doing some wierd stuff. Double checked maf sensor state and it does show MAF failed the whole time. Is there a way to run pure VE (well VVE) mode without coding it?

5300 inj go wide open fuel pressure falls 10 psi. i dont see the change in wideband or narrowbands though. See power take a dive at 6000+ though

OK something in the VVE calcs was making that huge jump. I think its because its not using the VVE table for Manifold Switch Closed like I thought, its using Switch Open or one of the DOD ones (should be no way). Problem is, if I take my Manifold Switch Closed table (which is smoothed correct and should be pretty dead on) copy it, and paste to Manifold Switch Open table, then hit calc coeffs buttons it doesnt stick the changes???!

In pure maf mode once I cleaned that up PW looks normal, fuel system is just maxxed out. 115% duty cycle little pressure drop and you can see the air fuel start to climb... still dont know what up with the drop in power at 6000+

If you really want to be sure it's not using the MAF, you could pull the MAF signal wires out of the harness (if using the MAF intake air temp sensor). Or just unplug the thing if you have a separate MAF you can use

Are you using the most recent version of the beta? I just took the last tune you posted, copy / pasted the "closed" VVE table into the other three, hit calculate coeffecients on each one, and although it gave an error, it did it and didn't change any of the numbers afterwards. So, I assume it worked? I closed/re-opened VVE editor and the changes I made were still there when I re-opened it

I may be misunderstanding the problem, but I'm pretty sure it worked for me

I just emailed support to put the link back up. I thought I downloaded it very recently .2099 I think it was? Yep, just tried it again, my changes dont hold.

If you can, copy the top VVE table into the other 3 and calc the coeffs. If you check every tab, they all have the same exact values for you when done? Load that up here so I can continue my sanity check while waiting for beta LOL

I lways thought they ran off the top one, but this one is definitely running off manifold switch open?

Here's a picture after I pasted into the "open" table and calculated coefficients. Looks the same as the "closed" one to me, so I don't think it changed anything on me after I hit calculate. I can close/re-open the editor and it'll still have this data in it

I can't save it since I don't have a license for that file or unlimited for that year/model.

edit: changed axis over to 2 bar instead of 1 bar and it worked just the same, so may be in the version of the beta you're using..

PM me your email and I'll get you the latest beta

Yep, that was it. Beta wasnt fully functional, i was told VVE stuff worked in my version but wasnt all the way.

Solves the wierd inj full tilt issue. If it says MAF State failed its always VE correct, so no worry there, but is there a way to run pure VE and not have the maf fail? I thought you could set it up to do it without coding or having to set the code?

There's probably a way to make the dynamic airflow calculation always lean 100% towards the VE airflow and 0% MAF.. but I have no idea if that's really possible or not

You can turn the check engine light off if you wanted to if it bothers you. I don't know of another way to fail the MAF though short of either using the max hz value to set a code or to just unplug it (if you have a separate IAT)
