    Exclamation 2015 Now Supported

2015 Dodge PCM Tuning is now supported!

HP Tuners is proud to release to the public a PCM modification service that unlocks the 2015 PCMs for tuning. The cost is 249 and can be purchased through http://www.hptuners.com/order.php at the bottom of the page.

Once ordered, send in the following:
    1. The PCM to be Modified
    2. Slip of paper with:
      1. Order # corresponding with "Modification Service" Purchase
      2. MPVI Serial Number
      3. Return Address
      4. Email Address

You can send either an original PCM or a spare. It is also recommended that you read the vehicle and send the file to support if you receive the "Definition Failed to Load" error before sending in the PCM. This will give me time to map out your file while your PCM is being shipped in.

An HP Tuners engineer will modify the PCM and enable your HP Tuners software so that the 2015 can then be read, licensed, edited, and flashed with HP Tuners software! This is a one-time modification that will not affect other operations of the PCM. The factory tools will still work for service. And HP Tuners will then work for tuning!

2015 model year Dodge vehicles can initially be read by selecting the "GPEC2A" as the PCM. Once the PCM is unlocked by an engineer and your VCM Suite/MPVI is enabled, the vehicle can be written to as a "GPEC2B"

Initially, please leave 1 - 2 business days (plus the time to ship the PCM) for the PCM modification.

    Thanks!

Is this how every Dodge will have to be handled from now on? Is there a way in HP's future that these PCM's will not have to be submitted like this? It may be outside the realm of answers here but I have to ask... What made them encrypt their PCM's like this or is this normal? This is going to put a lot of people off...
And lastly, should people feel secure and safe sending their PCM's in for this? Is there a chance this could go bad?

Right now, I can't speak to how the future may be as far as accessing Dodge PCMs as I don't know what PCMs will come in upcoming model year vehicles.

As far as sending the PCM in goes, we have a process in place that will get your PCM unlocked and back to you. We have already tested this process with success each time.

Mark, Jay told me yesterday that we wont be able to read the car until the ecu is unlocked. So i suspect we may have trouble trying to do it before sending it in. I just tried myself and can confirm it will not read with the latest beta.

This shouldn't matter as you couldn't do anything with that file and a "locked" PCM anyway.

You should be able to read the ECM without sending it in to be unlocked, however you will not be able to write. If you are having problems reading please send a VCM Suite info file to support.

Unfortunately, there is no way to tune these vehicles without the one-time unlocking service.

Would this also cover a 2015 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 Hemi?

It only matters if people do as they are being asked, which is why I mentioned it

It is also recommended that you read the vehicle and send the file to support if you receive the "Definition Failed to Load" error before sending in the PCM.

Correct, I did ask for it.
It is not a necessary step to do, as I can read it once I receive the PCM, but it does provide me more time to map out the operating system if it hasn't already been done. Like Chris said, you should be able to read it before it is unlocked and if you're having troubles to email support.

As far as I know yes, however I have not received any PCMs from 2015 RAMs. The best thing to do would be to try and read the vehicle as a GPEC2A and send the file to support. From there we can give you a better answer.

    Mark or Chris,

I am unfamiliar with the tuning process so please excuse my ignorance. After the PCM has been unlocked, what is the next step to getting a tune? I have a 2015 SRT Challenger. Is there an HP Tuners product that I need to purchase, or can I go to a shop that has HP Tuners to tune my car? Would I be able to use a Diablosport handheld tuner after it is unlocked? Just exploring my options here. Thanks in advance for any help

    Eric

Hi Eric, after the ECM has been unlocked you then use our VCM Suite product to tune or you could go to a shop and have them tune the car. I don't know if a diablosport handheld would work or not sorry.

    Chris...
After unlocked, Dyno tune or canned tune is the next step. What are the prices of each via your shop?
What kind of power increase should we expect with your dyno tune and/or canned tuned?
Would one have to send their PCM back in every time they want a change?
Will tuning be able to support aftermarket mods such as heads/cams/superchargers/etc?

    Correct.

We don't offer Dyno Tunes or Canned Tunes. We just provide you with the software to tune the vehicle. You can either purchase an HP Tuners interface with VCM Suite from here, license the vehicle, and tune it yourself. Or take it to any shop who uses HP Tuners and they can get your vehicle tuned.

We don't offer any tunes through HP Tuners so this is a bit relative to your vehicle and your tuner. See the Hellcat Unleashed thread to see some of the performance increases we've already seen with just modifying the stock tune in two Hellcat Challengers.

No, sending the PCM in for modification is a one time occurrence. Once the PCM is unlocked it is unlocked. Anytime you would like to make a change you would just have to make the changes in VCM Suite and flash the PCM again

Take a look through the Dodge forum, people have tuned for these modifications on older Dodge vehicles. Most editable parameters used for these mods that are in older calibrations are also in 2015s and we are adding more all the time, so you shouldn't have any issue here.

    Thanks!

    Regards,
    Mark

Ok, just so i can tell customers total cost involved. It is $250 to modify the pcm, and then does it cost another $100 in credits to License it then? For a total $350 plus shipping? Thanks

Tried a SRT8 2015 ScatPack read and couldn't get a file saved using the "GPEC2A" mode.

What was the error you got at the end of the read that prevented you from saving it?

Please send your Debug.dat file to Support.

The Debug.dat file is located within the Settings folder, which is in your HP Tuners folder (which is typically in your "My Documents")
