    camaro ss A6 Vortech V3si advice/opinions

    hello everyone,
I installed a vortech v3si kit back in march of this year, so mods are. shorty headers , HFC, V max TB and blower.

I have been trying to get the tune write and to be honest when I started I didn't have a clue. so iv spent countless hours reading and trial and error. just wanted to post a log and see what you guys think and I know a lot of you are way better then I will ever be, so maybe point me in the right direction

    thanks, Tom

A quick look and it looks pretty good, no glaring issues. I would like to see the PE come in a bit earlier. The stock Throttle setting is like 30 at 1000 -3000 rpm and you are building boost at these area's. I would change the PE enable Hot Throttle to 12 across the board and change the MAP PE enable to 85 kpa. Also there is still a fare amount of spark adders enabled (AFR and variable cam) which make it harder to zero in the timing which I think you might be able to up to improve power. I say this because you are not showing any knock and in some areas the timing is as low as 7-8 degrees. You will have to take it out and add slowly timing into certain area's to see if it helps or creates knock unless you can get some dyno time. If you are happy with the performance than you can just leave it alone. As a note, these setups do have a perpencity to knock more than I have seen so tread lightly :-)

Lastly, you can see that at 6000 rpm in the WOT pull your injectors are around 21+ ms. Again, these setups in the SS's seem to push the injectors to the limit and you are over 100% duty cycle. You may want to add a bit of PE at the top end to compensate to keep the AFR in line with about .78 lambda. If you ever want to go with a pulley upgrade, you will need to go with larger injectors. PE could be set to 1.27 across the board to start and watch the over 5K area's in WOT.

Will look a bit more tonight.

I also think you have about a 5-7% error (on the high side) of you WB reading. I say that because if you look at an area where you are cruising, you can see the STFT trying to keep the fueling around your 14.3 Stoich setting, but the WB reading is reading 15.XX'sh. Its a little harder to stabilize the WB reading because you shut off the LTFT's, so the STFT are playing a bit more aggressively to keep you at Stoich.

Thanks a bunch for the feedback Ed. I noticed the
injectors maxing out. I would have thought 65lbhr injectors would have been more than enough. Is it possible my injector tables are way off? They are fast 65, so they dont come with information...

Don't forget to check out the wideband accuracy. If showing lean, you could be actually over fueling and taxing the injectors even more.

dont continue, get injectors go to ID850's if you want a smooth running car.

He should be able to make like 650+ at the rear wheels with these injectors. More than he will need. While I understand the FAST vs ID debates, why go to almost 100 lbs/hr flow for 6-7 pounds of boost at like $1200? The fuel system in his setup wont stay up with that size injector anyways.

Agree, I said that in my opening critique. You said he needed them to get the car to run smooth. That is why I questioned your comment.

Iv played around off and on when the weather is ok, Ed you were spot on..I recalibrated the wideband. Set PE at around what you recommend and added timing very slow car runs pretty darn good will have to wait untill spring to dial it in 100% as the weather is horrible and I need to upgrade my fuel pump. Thats one of the reasons my injectors are showing 100% is fuel pressure is dropping of to about 50psi at 6k
