Intresting... trying to find the density of e85,

Depending on seasonal blend variations E85 will weigh approximately 6.5 pounds per U.S. Gallon, having a liquid density of approximately 0.77 - 0.79 compared to gasoline which has typical values of 6.0 - 6.5 pounds per U.S. gallon and a density of 0.72 - 0.78.

Out of curiosity, as I don't speak or count sheep in hex, how do you ascertain that kind of fidelity from the code itself? Ive looked at some Porsche code and it was all a guessing game without some sort of "map". Delete if that's too far off topic.

E85 is around 780,000 in the GM calibrations.

as for the units, well the fuel mass is in grams and somehow needs to get to litres/hour, look at the code it divides the mass by the "mystery number" and gets litres.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gasoline gives me numbers like 0.71 - 0.77 kg/L, so the numbers are 1,000,000 x that so it must be mg/L

Now i need to lie down...

No, you need to edit the boost enrichment function to be a table that has MAP and RPM as axis labels. And make 2006 Corvette operating systems have adjustable axis labels for spark! Lol.

If E85 is 780000 and gas is 730000 could you say 1) there is a 6.5% difference between E85 and gas 2) assume E85 flows approximately 25% more than gas 3) so by decrementing the 730000 value by 6.5%, this would adjust for a 25% IFR/AF scale factor....that would be just too easy.

I can't get this table to help me at all. I have my IFR cut in half and my Stoic AFR doubled. With the stock value my MPG is double cruising around town at 45 I see about 17mpg (shows as 34). I have messed with this table going 100,000 higher and lower and both do the same thing and make my MPG read 50+ on the driver info center. Don't understand how I can adjust the table higher and lower but It make the mpg read more, a lot more.

Anyone else had a chance to mess with this?

    I think you nailed it.

I plugged in a value of 600000 to start with and my average dropped to about 17 mpg which is too low. Moved it back up to 680000. I guess I will just have to dial it in over time but I think your calculation may just do it.

    FYI, running 52 lb. injectors

Does this effect any other calculations beside fuel mileage on DIC?

I hope not. It didn't seem to effect anything else. The car drove and ran fine.

not that i can see, the value calculated is sent out on the CAN bus so anything that receives that data and uses it will be affected.

yeah i saw that. there is nothing that resembles that in two different e38 vette tunes i have. so my question was, is this in 2.24, or is there a 2.24 beta that i dont have yet?

2.24.74 is the latest version as of last night. It keeps being update with what ever is the latest stable version. The beta version (2.25 I think) is not available the way it was before.

I had doubled stoich and halved IFR with my new injectors, so I halved the values in this table and it seems to have brought my economy readout back in line. I'll report back after a few tanks.

Have I gone nuts ? I started this thread and know it was there, but now that I have some time to play with this scaler, I cant find it in 2.24.52 !!!
