So the power wire on the sensor needs 5volts not 12volts? I just bought a sensor and plan on making my car flex fuel.

    Thanks

To answer my question if anybody else would like to know. The flex fuel sensor needs 5 volts on the power wire, chassis ground to the ground wire and the sensor wire to pin forty. On the e38
I would like to thank everybody for this tread. I wanted to change my car to flex fuel and would not been able to make it happen if it wasn't for the people on this forum.

The sensor takes ignition voltage. It may operate on 5v but GM always wires them to ignition.

I wired it to a 5 volt source. The car has e85 fuel in it now. So after I had the sensor hooked up I looked at the scanner and it said the alcohol percent was 80%. So I thought it was working. Do you think I should change it to switched ignition 12 volts?

It may not matter. All the sensor does is pull the signal to ground. I use ignition voltage because that's what GM uses, and I've seen the sensor have a hard time pulling to ground when run on 5v.

So bringing this way back from the dead, lol. I have a 2007 CTS-V (E67 - 12609051 OS) that I'd like to run flex fuel (doesn't seem like all the flex fuel options are on this OS), and raise the maf table limit. Currently running a 402ci with an LSA blower at 11psi and it maxes out the maf table (12,200Hz) at 5500rpm. Now I've tuned around it for the time being, but I'd rather it work correctly.

Question is, is there a compatible OS I can flash onto this car with the parameters I need, or is there a possibility of custom OS features for this? I've tried searching for quite some time, but I haven't seen much info on the CTS-V OS compatibility.

I've attached the stock tune for reference

    Thanks for any help.
