Just got our MPVI after the last one was stolen now trying to install on w7 and it is saying no open COM ports. Not sure what to do. I have downloaded the w7 drivers and dont know what the next step is.

I still get the same msg even after I did the driver updates on my Windows 7 Laptop...

you cant open the scanner and the editor at the same time. Only one open at a time.
does it on my XP Pro and my Win 7 OS... Maybe hardware. I am running on Motion Computing Tablet PC's. Neither however can have both scanner and editor open at the same time and try to write to the PCM. it will give the error no ports available.
The issue is not that you cant have both open the problem is you cant have both CONNECTED. If you disconnect the scanner (the second lightning bolt) the com port will be open and let you flash the PCM.
