    attn: Russ k 4l80e tune

i was told to contact you once i got my 4l80e installed in my truck. it was a 60e in there for a 2003 1500 of course. ec_tune did the segment swap for me i have the transgo hd2 kit installed. i was just wondering if you could look at my tranny tune and see if anything needs to be firmed up for changed. i am just so scared of breaking it it has been down a while and dont want so soft it burns something up.

thank you for any help you can give.!!!

Did you want firmer shifts? Any mods to the engine? Need to know the gear ratio & tire sizes.

Do you have the stock tune that the 4L80E segment swap came from?

yes the tune i posted is a stock tune file. i compared it with other 80e;s and it is stock.
right now motor is a 6.0 with just exhaust done. i have just seen where other used pressure to shift with the 80e and 0 out the shift times. just with the stock file i posted shifts are kind of slow and lazy, just didnt want to burn anything up. when i hit the tow haul button shift seems much better. i know that it upped the pressure tables when doing that and shift times were faster. the gear is 3.73 with a stock tire size of 29.20. it shifts pretty good like this now (when in tow haul) but downshifts seem kinda slow when i wot it...but i havent done that much just in case.

here is a file a forum member sent to me to copy i think we have the same setups with 6.0 and 4l80e. i copied the settings but haven't had time to load it. this also has the stock converter for now.

so basically yes firmer shifts, times ect.. just want to make sure it is right so i don't break anything with a stock tune that would cause any problems.. if that makes any sense??

thanks for everyone's help on this!!

Do you know what year truck the segment swap was from? Need to know the advertised tire size.

Are the trans tables the way EC_Tune set up for you?

Try this trans tune. I didn't change the tow/haul part throttle shift speeds, you can play with those if you want. I normally leave them close to stock if you do any towing.

The speedo should be correct, but check it with a GPS, or pace car.

you need to update your software from your customer login page. he is more than likely running a beta version of hp tuners...
    hope this helps

I know this thread is a little old, but I have a 4L80E tune file for my setup and I have compared against stock and some that are modded, just wondering how it looks/compares.

Russ I tried to PM/email you, but it said it was blocked?

Here is my file if you don't mind to take a few minutes
