Question new cams, need tuning help

I put in my new camshafts over the weekend. the idle is really rough, i can live with it as long as its not hurting the motor. this is on the stock tune with the idle raise to keep it from stalling on take off.

i set-up a closed loop disable, I flashed it and planned to go for a drive to get some logs for tuning. however it went pig rich on me ( in the mid 10-11 AFR on an n/a set up ) unfortunately i don't have a log of this it was also suggested to me to advance my idle timing to see if it would help to straighten it up. i did my and advance by doing the X 1.02 in the base idle under spark control. the car was barely running after trying this. so i set it back to where it was.

i have included the my "not" tune, config file, and the two most recent log files a short trip to and from dinner on different routes, as well as one where the idle was advanced.

i'm really trying to figure out where to get started on this so i do some more logging.

the specs on the cams are...
street (Stage 1) Applications power from 2600-6800rpm .423 intake and .419 exhaust valve lift, 252 intake and 256 exhaust duration advertised (210 intake and 212 exhaust @ .050" duration)

All your VE tables look stock(compared with a stock file I have)... How did it run in closed loop? I would set up a histogram to see what error is and go from there... Also you may want to lower your PE enable...

my VE tables are all stock. in closed loop it went supper rich, enough where it was hard to start the next time around, like it got a lil flooded. I also found a ground strap not tightened down, which could have been causeing misfires, and hence extra unburned fuel.

I'm am logging the AFR Error is that what your refering to above?

Soo...you put in new cams to allow more airflow yet you didn't modify the airflow tables to work with them? That makes sense......

ok good, now lets try something more useful. i think this means i should adjust my VE tables up, and I read doing things in small steps is better. would you say maybe 2% at a time, or go ahead an jump to 5% to start, and then 1 or 2% steps after that? someone on another board actually told me NOT to mess with my VE, theres allot of misinformation out there.

BTW its cool to see someone from my home state on here, go eer's!!

    Question

okay need some more input as to which is right.

I have been doing the VE tuning as in the post on JBO. however I just noticed today that there is a post down the line saying to do "paste special>%" instead of "paste special>add". now I'm thinking this should be okay since I am logging my AFR error as %, and doing my pasting as "add" up to this point. as opposed to logging the actual AFR error.

which way is the right way, or better way to go with this?

I just don't want to be chasing my tail here, now that I'm starting to "get it"

okay heres is where I am now, I started fresh and doing the paste special % so it took a bit for me to get back.

here is my most recent tune, and a log driving home tonight, it covers allot of the RPM range as well as my idle.

still rich, but not as bad as it was. it seems like the flashes were making a difference up to point and then stopped being as effective. thats why I posted back, I need to make sure I'm not going in circles here.
